Professional Civil Engineer
We are hiring a full-time Civil Engineer for a design engineer role. Responsibilities include:
- Create and oversee the design of civil engineering projects.
- Collaborate with Clients, Architects, and Engineers as a part of the project design team.
- Project management and budgeting, proposal preparation, and familiarity with St. Louis area communities’ and MSD submittal procedures are a bonus and/or be willing to learn these skills.
Requirements:
- Candidate to be a Missouri Licensed Professional Engineer or someone within 6 months or less of taking the licensure exam.
- Stormwater hydraulics and hydrology design experience.
- AutoCAD Civil 3D capable.

Civil Project Manager / Designer
Civil Project Manager / Designer
This is a full time position.
Responsibilities will include:
- Managing/overseeing projects in the St. Louis region.
- Work with Civil Engineers and Land Surveyors to coordiante project needs, costs and design.
- Lay out and design civil improvements, prepare the construction plans and other required documents for permitting.
- Budgeting, billing and cost estimate preparation.
- Client correspondence and project accountability.
- Preparation of reports & technical specifications.
- Site investigations, construction oversight.
Requirements for this position:
- AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency is required.
- Familiarity with the St. Louis Metropolitan Sewer District (MSD) is essential.
- Familiarity with St. Louis Metro area design and submittal procedures.
- Must be local to the office location, remote/hybrid work available under special circumstances.

Engineer In Training - Summer Internship
This is a summer internship position at a St. Louis area Civil Engineering and Surveying company. We provide site design and civil engineering services. It is an entry level engineering position, and duties will include project related tasks such as assisting with the preparation of CAD drawings, project research and engineering calculations. Summer internship dates will be coordinated with your availability, approximately 90 days. Hourly pay varies based on education level, no experience required.
Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam with a passing grade is preferred but not required for this internship.
Learning objectives include: Civil Engineering, Site Design, Engineering Calculations, Project Coordination
We will work with the intern to accommodate the schedule required for their schooling, and the pay will be based on the level of education completed. Our engineers will work side-by-side with the intern in an engineering environment, to help this person grow professionally and potentially return back to our firm for future full-time employment.

Survey Researcher Archivist

Clayton Engineering Company has an opening for a Researcher – Archivist who is well-organized.
On the job training to be provided.
This is a permanent, part-time position with hours from 9 to 3:30, Monday through Thursday, with some flexibility.
We will train this person how to perform research for civil engineering and land surveying projects at various courthouses, cities and counties, online and in our private records. Prior experience working with survey and engineering research is a plus.
Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, OneNote, Word and Outlook preferred, these will be used daily. Scanning, indexing and archiving private surveys and records will be the bulk of the daily activities when research is not needed.
Must have a valid driver’s license. Will use a company car for deliveries and research.
